The Devon County League is played across five divisions, with promotion and relegation. Players earn points at each event based on how they finish within their division.
League standings are worked out in two steps. Players are first grouped by division, with higher divisions always ranked above lower ones. Within each division, players are then ranked by their best results from the season, including any bonus points earned.
Moving up a division allows players to score more points, and a small bonus is awarded for each event attended. Full details of the scoring system can be found here.
A separate league table is also kept for ladies. The players who finish top of each table overall at the end of the season will be awarded the Devon Trophy. Players must compete in at least three events to qualify for a ranking. Special thanks to Paul Ritchie for developing this system.
